and p.s. guessing this wqs created 10+ years ago so the irish figure they gave about 1 in 5 homes being vacant in ireland well not no more theres a housing CRISIS because of inviting the world
“620 ghost estates in IRELAND” so not northern ireland then???? “1 in 5 homes are vacant in ireland” So not northern Ireland then. You cant just keep mudding up numeric figures like that
Good luck to you 2!
Its great to look back at that now, wasn't Keenan some gullible gobshite to believe what the banks were saying , and Morgan Kelly had it well figured out long before and was forecasting what was to unfold.
Anyone know what Jim Power is doing now? Hopefully he is POWERLESS
What a waste. I might have been tempted to go speak to local council about the town buying the unfinished property, to be flipped or used for housing families on benefits. Either way, the council gets a solution/profit, and I would solve my problem of the neighbours units being unoccupied and vulnerable to vandals.
This is caused by the corrupt corporate end of town, these people should be compensated.
This is like listening to a discussion about the 2023 Australian housing market.
Immigration is the difference. The flood gates are open in Au while Ireland perhaps is not as immigrant heavy as we are.
Lovely couple what a shame I hope things work out for them in the future.
100% mortgage? Holy hell.
The biggest CUNT of them all is not even mentioned Minister for Finance at the time - Michael Noonan brought in the VULTURE FUNDS in 2007 But he did not tell anyone at the time Then he FUCKED OFF before the General Election with his pension
suites... a fancy word for overpriced shoe boxes.
We needed to save the banks so they could lend….. the problem was caused by lending too much
The foreign banks knew but the “regulators” didn’t …. Or didn’t care Pre-crash, we built too many houses and giving too much credit to people who couldn’t afford it Post-crash, we stopped building houses and we have an homelessness problem
Sue the criminals that sold you the house! Sue the town council that granted permits for the housing estate! Gosh, talk to lawyers and citizen's rights groups
Ooof!...
Coalisland is not in Ireland. By walking away from it they brought the problem on themselves. Wonder which doors got shut in their faces? Those houses in Coalisland are all finished and in use now. Bankruptcy is just a legal get out for debt. If they are working and renting a house in an area miles away from the house they don't want to pay for its extremely lucky the courts ruled in their favour.
Australia 2022/2023
This programme was made 12 years ago..Coalisland is still a KIP and still full of undesirables
The Celtic Tiger clawed away so many lives.
what bollox 1 in 5 houses empty where the fuck did he get that information ?
Never be the first people to move into a development...best to wait and see how things go
Any updates in 2022 about the couple?
Can anyone tell me ...why did this happen??
Coalisland is an IRA shit hole so I think they did ok by not ending up in that place
The biggest risk to current house prices is rental prices (as David said). If Sinn Fein get into power and prescribe/enforce €800 for a 3 bed semi in co. Dublin, the market will tank, along with residential construction market. Could be 2011 all over again.
Here in 2022 - Australia. Look out below. We are living this right now.
I feel for them. That's heartbreaking.
I Love Ireland and am sadden to learn of this
Jim Power showing how clueless he is to what is really happening under his nose. He's been rattling on for the last year about the current inflation being transitory while everyone in the real world knows inflation is here to stay for the next number of years. Misguided in 2007 and misguided today.
Both passed on. Few will lament seany, who’s greed and arrogance will cost generations of Irish descendants
should have been in jail since 2009 ... well now he is in hell (:
What a Shocking situation to find yourself in and I can understand the Nightmare of it all.I sincerely hope that since this recording was made that you and others in the same boat have made leaps and bounds with your lives.
Jesus, that phase of awful dreadful haircuts....thank God that's over!
Jim power . Another fool in the banking sector. The banking people are not business people. Listen to business people not banking ( clowns) people
The reason why td's in the DAIL do not give a damn about the Housing Crisis is because the majority of them are Landlords themselves!! One example would be the two Healy Rae Brothers in Kerry They own TEN properties......How do i know that? FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT
Covid tax going on right now ... houses are so inflated
To finally get your own house and then this shit to happen would be devastating.
Economy totally collapsed and we're well on the way to it happening again!
A fundamental idiot that was fundamentally wrong on so many fundamental issues.
Ouch!
Really nice couple
I feel so sorry for this couple. The government should have intervened.
Why?
Need a functioning government to be able to do that and Stormont isn’t capable of it.
Which government
Is Belfast Ireland again o 👍
FYI: it wasn’t road runner who fell off the cliff, it was Coyote.
🇮🇪😂😂😂😂
Here we go again...it’s 2021 and when’s does the next Irish property bubble happen?
On its way, though this time there is a shitload of demand, not enough supply and rents are rising.
@@2LegHumanist its a thundering herd of turtles 🤣 last time wasnt there a shit load of demand too? not enough supply?
@@peterfarrell3807 No, there was an oversupply. The prices were only high because banks were injecting way too much capital into the market. McWilliams explains that in these videos. Also, he said rents were falling. Now rents are through the roof and still rising.
The neck of Jim Power. Honestly, its incredible. And he's all over the Eamon Dunphy podcast, Newstalk, etc. now. People have short memories!
Reckon they knew the houses weren't built properly or something and stuck up fake sold signs to create the illusion of demand
360p we meet again
Australian here. This is like a weird snapshot of what is happening in Australia from coronavirus in 2020.
And now in 2023...
